There’s Caffe’ and then there’s a Macchiatone!
At a bar in Greve is a fabulous barista named Fabio. He’s sooo fabulous he has earned the nickname Fabioloso! A sublime macchiatone (mock-e-a-tone- ay) is his speciality - a slightly larger portion of macchiata (which is usually served in a short glass) adorned with a decorative chocolate flourish!
Then there is my new favorite- a shakerato- the Italian equivalent of iced coffee. Perfect when it’s 90 degrees (or 32.2 dgrees C here)! The barista puts a few ice cubes in a shaker, pours in a fresh, hot espresso and- you’ve got it- Shake, shake, shake!
Lest you think that’s the end of your options, here is the menu from the bar where I had my latest Caffe’ Sherato!
