Monia and Franco

Two plus months into my time in Panzano, I realize I have been remiss to not “introduce” you to Monia Piccini, whose apartment I rent and who has become a friend and trusted resource.

Monia and her husband Franco have ties to this area going back generations. They seem to know and be known by everyone and are held in high regard. At the April 24 festival , they filed down Via Verrazano in their medieval finery among the local “gentry” and looked every bit the regal couple.
